About Lisa

Growing up in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, Lisa was surrounded by music from day one. Her parents introduced her to the legendary rock and roll bands of the 60s and 70s, while the radio filled her world with the sounds of 90s country and alternative rock. This diverse musical backdrop sparked a lifelong love for classic sounds and heartfelt storytelling.

Lisa's journey as a multi-instrumentalist began early and she was always eager to pick up a new instrument. As a teenager, guitar lessons with Dallas-based blues guitarist Randy Knight laid the groundwork for her to start writing her own songs and performing for others. More than anything, it's Lisa's curiosity and genuine passion for creative expression that have guided her path as a songwriter and performer. For Lisa, music isn't just a passion; it's a way to process life's ups and downs and connect with others on a real, human level.

Says Lisa, "For me, songwriting is all about connection. When I write a song that gives someone hope, healing, validation, or even just a bit of comic relief, that's what makes it all worthwhile. Knowing that something I created can resonate with others and make their day a little brighter…that's the real reward."

Whether she's performing on stage or crafting new songs, Lisa brings warmth, honesty, and a sense of joy to everything she does. As a songwriter, she aims to be known for her heartfelt lyrics and authentic storytelling, engaging audiences through both her solo work and collaborations. Since moving to Austin, Lisa has performed and recorded with country act Jason Kane White & The Lonesome and as a member of Jeska Forsyth's Vanity Project. Currently, she showcases her talents on fiddle and harmony vocals with the Pauline Reese Band. She also writes, performs, and records as one half of the Austin-based duo The Caterwaulers alongside Daniel Tessmer, a collaboration that began serendipitously at an open mic night in Cedar Park at the end of 2020, where their soulful vocal harmonies stood out as they covered songs by artists like Lucinda Williams and Chris Stapleton. Inspired by their instant musical chemistry, they officially formed The Caterwaulers in the spring of 2021.

In 2025, Lisa was honored to be a featured performer at the Texas Women Songwriters Festival in historic downtown Lockhart, Texas.  It was an experience that celebrated the power of women's authentic voices and community in music. That same year, The Caterwaulers released their debut original single, "RUN," and are currently planning the release of their first Caterwaulers EP in 2026.
